How much are bus tickets in Vietnam?
Currently, bus ticket prices in Vietnam are not fixed and may vary based on the travel distance, bus type, and booking time. Additional charges may also apply for door-to-door pick-up/drop-off services or shuttle bus facilities provided by the operator.

Is it mandatory to take a printout of the ticket?
This depends on the bus operator. Many operators on redBus support mTickets, allowing customers to show the ticket SMS or mobile ticket at the time of boarding without needing a printout. However, for operators that do not support mTickets, customers must carry a printed copy of the e-ticket during boarding. The e-ticket will be sent to the registered email ID after booking.

What is an mTicket?
An mTicket is a message sent to your booking mobile number via ZNS or WhatsApp for selected bus operators. This message has the booking details like TIN number and the PNR number along with other ticket-related information. It can be used to board the bus. Please note that not all operators accept mTickets.

Can I change my bus ticket to a different day?

If a customer wants to change their bus ticket to another day, it is equivalent to canceling the ticket and booking a new one. Each bus operator has different policies, but for convenience, customers can view the cancellation and change information of each operator in the "Booking Policy" section on the redBus website or app. However, during special occasions such as holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), or peak season, tickets may not be eligible for cancellation or change.

Why do some bus operators on redBus only show options to select the number of tickets instead of allowing specific seat selection?

Some bus operators currently do not support the option to choose specific seats. Instead, the bus operator will flexibly arrange seats when passengers board the bus. Therefore, when booking online, you only need to select the number of tickets. After completing the payment, you will receive a confirmation of successful booking for the total number of tickets booked. However, some bus operators will inform you of the seat location on the booking confirmation.

I entered incorrect information while booking my ticket. What should I do?

I have successfully paid for my ticket and received an mTicket. When will the bus operator call me?

Depending on the bus operator, you may receive a confirmation call for your trip. If the pick-up point is the bus operator's office or the bus station, you should arrive 30 minutes (weekdays) or 60 minutes (holidays/Tet) before departure and present your ticket information for check-in.
If you are being picked up at home or along the way, the driver/staff will contact you beforehand, but the timing depends on each bus operator. Please keep your phone ready and proactively contact the bus operator if needed.
If you have registered for a shuttle service, please be ready 60 minutes in advance and ensure your phone is reachable. The driver will inform you about the shuttle, or you can proactively contact the bus operator for more information.

Can I transfer my purchased ticket to someone else?
Most tickets purchased on redBus can be easily transferred to another person. To ensure smooth communication when needed, you simply need to contact redBus to update the new passenger's information, including their full name and phone number.

In some cases, changing the information on the ticket may not be allowed, depending on the bus operator's policy or the specific trip. Can I reserve a bus ticket by paying a deposit before completing the booking?

Customers can reserve a bus ticket by paying a deposit before completing the booking. Especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), when the demand for tickets is high, a deposit system will be applied to ensure the rights of customers. Additionally, each bus operator may have different policies regarding deposits, and customers need to make full payment before the reservation period ends, otherwise, the ticket will be canceled.

Cancellation & Refund

Can I cancel my bus ticket online?
Ticket cancellation on redBus is subject to the bus operator’s cancellation policy. The cancellation charges may vary for each service and applicable refunds will be processed according to the terms and conditions mentioned in the respective ticket. redBus does not have a separate cancellation policy.
How can I cancel my bus ticket online?
You can cancel your ticket directly through the redBus website using the “Cancel” option on the homepage or through the “My Bookings” section in the redBus app. We recommend checking the cancellation terms and conditions mentioned on the ticket to understand the applicable charges and refundable amount.
I missed the bus. Do I get a refund?

redBus provides a 100% refund if the bus is missed due to either redBus or its partner company's fault. However, no refund is provided if the bus is missed due to any other reason not directly related to redBus.

What happens if the bus does not leave on time or is canceled?

If your bus does not leave on time or is canceled, you will need to consult the respective bus operators' counters. You can also call the redBus customer care to discuss the appropriate actions.

My payment is successful and the money is deducted, but I still need the ticket confirmation. What should I do?
Payment failures may occur due to network issues, bank maintenance, or security checks etc. In rare events, if the payment fails and the ticket confirmation has yet to be sent out, your money will be refunded. If redBus has not received the payment, and your payment is pending at the payment gateway depending on the bank, it will be refunded automatically to your original within 7-15 working days (excludings Holidays and weekends). Before booking a new ticket, please check if you have receive the ticket confirmation via message & email etc.
Does redBus provide Value Added Tax (VAT) invoices upon request?

redBus does not directly provide transportation services but acts as a platform connecting passengers with bus operators. The provision of VAT invoices will depend on the policies of each partner bus operator. Customers can contact the bus operator they booked with directly to request a VAT invoice. The bus operator's contact information is usually included in the booking confirmation email or on the redBus website/app.
